Vols. 5-6 were nearly completed at the time of the death of Miss Hemenway, and v. 5 was published by her sister, Mrs. Carrie E. H. Page. The ms. of v. 6 (Windsor county) came into the possession of William P. Baxter of Chicago, who collected a great amount of additional material. After his death all this was burned in the destruction of the home of his niece, Miss Janette Baxter, of Jackson Springs, North Carolina. cf. Washington county, with histories of Swanton in Franklin county, Groton, in Caledonia county and Hubbardton in Rutland county.--v. 5. Windham county, with histories of Sutton in Caledonia county, and Bennington in Bennington county
